> Ask A Question > Add A Comment from Kelly N. in NC - June 28, 2008 I am planning a move from Wilmington, NC to a studio apt. in Manhattan, NY. Will there be a problem with the size of your moving truck being able to park and unload there? Kelly,
Unfortunately, Manhattan is not servicable with our system because of the large size of the moving trucks and limited parking availablility in Manhattan. If you wanted to use our service, we could get your shipment as far as New Jersey. You would need to meet the truck at a predetermined location and shuttle your goods in a smaller truck into Manhattan.
Movex from Justin G. in OH - June 21, 2008 Is payment required up front or upon delivery? Justin
We route moving trucks well in advance of your move. For that reason, we require payment with a credit card prior to sending a moving van all the way to your home. Paying with a credit card makes your transaction 100% safe and secure for you as a consumer. If a mover will not take a credit card... don't use them!
Movex from Kelly S. in OK - June 21, 2008 Are there any additional costs for gas, etc? Kelly,
No. The prices that we quote are all-inclusive... meaning fuel, driver, furniture blankets, loading ramps, dolly, and tie down straps.
Movex from cheri N. in FL - June 21, 2008 I live on a 700' dirt drive- would this be an issue? Cheri,
All of the big moving vans that we use MUST stay on paved roads. In your situation, you would need to shuttle your goods out to the moving truck that would be safely parked on the hard road.
Movex from Travis S. in IL - June 17, 2008 Is there a inventory taken of the my possessions or is that up to me/customer. Travis,
That is up to you, the customer. Movex is a self-service form of moving. We provide the moving truck, you provide the loading and unloading.
Each customer gets a private compartment on the truck, so an inventory is not necessary.
Movex from Jennifer F. in CA - June 13, 2008 So if you sell the remaining space to someone else does that mean they are going to have access to my things while they are unloading theirs? Jennifer,
Each customer is in a private compartment on the moving truck. For added security, the driver stays with the vehicle during loading and unloading to ensure that nobody breaks into your compartment. In our 9 years of service, Movex has never had a theft claim.
Movex from Jeff G. in WA - June 13, 2008 Do you have service TO Canada? We're moving from Washington (near Seattle) to Calgary, AB. Jeff,
Due to the self-service nature of the Movex service (customer loading and unloading), we cannot help with international orders because it is a risk to homeland security.
Movex. from Miriam P. in OR - June 12, 2008 Do you guys take plants? I have five big flowerpots that I really want to take with me. Thanks, Miriam,
Unfortunately, live plants cannot be transported across state lines on moving trucks. There are issues with non-native plants being transported to areas where they don't belong.
Movex from Karen L. in TN - June 9, 2008 I don't use credit cards - I use a debit Visa and cash only. Do you accept these payments? Karen,
Yes we do. Sometimes there are withdrawal limits on those type of cards that can be a bit of a hassle. We have a very friendly accounting department that will work with you to get your moving payment arrangements squared away.
Movex from Pete S. in OK - June 8, 2008 We will be moving from Oklahoma City (73170) to Homosassa, Fl (34446) sometime next spring/summer. Does movex service both of these areas? Pete,
Yes we do. We service just about every location in the lower 48. The exclusions of our service area would be The Florida Keys, Upper Peninsula Michigan, Northern Maine and some Vermont.
Movex from amanda M. in NJ - June 7, 2008 this is a question regarding payment. i did not find the info on the site, maybe didnt look in the right spot... what do you need to reserve the truck? is there a hold or deposit on credit cards? do you accept other forms of payment? when is payment processed? i ask because my parents are helping me pay for the move and we need to get all the funds into one account. thanks a bunch! movex looks wonderful! i am actually looking forward to the move! sincerely, a.malone Amanda,
... and we are looking forward to helping you move. It takes a credit card to make your reservation (Visa, MC, Discover, no Amex). Nothing is charged on your credit card when you make your reservation. 5 days prior to your loading, an authorization of funds is run on the card. We check this 5 days prior in case there are payment challenges. That gives us enough time to work with you to secure payment so that we don't end up trying to do it on moving day... which is stressful enough.
Using a credit card for payment is secure for both parties. Movex knows that the funds are available and you, the consumer, have the power of your credit card company behind you to ensure that we don't get paid unless the service is performed.
Looking forward to assisting you with your move.
Movex from Karen C. in UT - June 6, 2008 If I make a reservation, how long do I have to cancel with no penalty? Not sure just when we will be leaving... Karen,
You can cancel a reservation with no penalty five days prior to your move.
Movex from Kathy D. in MI - June 6, 2008 Does Movex make instate moves? I am talking about 120 miles, metro Detroit to the east side of Lansing. Kathy,
Sorry, but our licensing is for state to state transportation only.
Movex from James S. in AZ - June 3, 2008 Because there are multiple users per 54 ft. truck, how are my belongings secure when they are loading/unloading their items? James,
Each shipment is separated from any other shipments on the moving truck by a wall. There are several moveable walls inside the truck so we can accommodate up to 7 shipments on one vehicle. If there are other shipments on board, the driver will stay with the vehicle while others are loading and unloading to make sure that nobody gets into another shipment. We have never had a customer theft claim in the history of Movex.
Movex from nicole T. in MA - June 2, 2008 will you move from boston to ohio Nicole,
Absolutely..... and we have great pricing in that area too.
Movex from Carol R. in IA - June 1, 2008 I need to move a piece of exercise equipment, an eliptical machine, from Murfreesboro, TN to Cedar Rapids, IA and am looking for the most affordable way to achieve this task. Is this the type of job that can be accomplished by Movex? Thanks Carol,
Our minimum shipment size is 5 ft of space on the moving truck. That is really going to be overkill for a one piece shipment. I would suggest calling UPS. That is probably going to be the most cost-effective solution for you.
Movex from Sarah M. in NC - June 1, 2008 because you say you are driving does that mean gas is included in your quote price. Sarah,
Yes. The Movex prices that are quoted on this website do include the cost of the moving truck, FUEL, driver, and door-to-door service.
With today's crazy fuel prices, Movex is a better deal than ever before.
Movex from Damita G. in TN - June 1, 2008 I am wanting to move a hottub and enclosure from Seymour, TN to Nashville, TN. I am purchasing from a seller there and I live in Nashville. can you assist with this move?
Damita,
Movex only provides self-service moving from one state to another. You would need to call a local mover to help you with in-state moves.
Movex from Brian M. in AK - June 1, 2008 I have a couple dozen boxes and plastic containers of books, electronics, etc. for a move to Miramar, CA from Anchorage, AK. Presently easily fit in 5X8' storage unit. Do you have 5X5 containers or thereabouts? Brain,
While we love Alaska, we unfortunately do not have service to Anchorage. Movex currently services all points in the "lower 48".
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Michael W. in NJ - May 30, 2008 Question 1 - what if all of my stuff does not fit in a 28ft truck?
Question 2 - do I have to purchase boxes and supplies on my own?
Question 3 - Are my belongings insured?
Question 4 - can you store my belongings for 1-2 weeks if necessary? Michael,
1. We provide service on 53ft moving vans, so you will not need to worry about not having enough room. Just make sure you tell your relocation specialist how much space you would like to have when making your reservation.
2. Movex premier service provides you with furniture blankets, tie-down straps, loading ramps, and a dolly. You will need to purchase your own boxes.
3. Movex provides $5000 of coverage for your goods at no cost. Additional coverage is available for an affordable cost.
4. We have some storage options and even have an EXACT EXPRESS option where you can choose the exact delivery date of your shipment (this service is only provided on 28ft trucks and does not include the moving equipment mentioned in the answer above, but is our only storage option).
Hope this helps.
Movex from Ron G. in NV - May 27, 2008 I'm trying to get a quote but it won't take my info? Ron,
The system is set up for city and state pairs and is also date specific. Please double-check your spelling and make sure that you don't put any punctuation into the quote form. If you continue having trouble, relocation specialists are available at 800-876-6839 to immediately assist you.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from carol I. in FL - May 26, 2008 Moving from Florida to Black Mountain North Carolina. Home located approx. 2500'up. There is a gravel "driveway" leading up to the house.
Before the "driveway" there is a bridge to cross, how wide does the bridge have to be and what weight capacity does it need? Once the bridge is crossed, it is straight up. Once up there is room for a large truck to pull in and turn around. How much space do you think it would require once up to turn around? I guess this is more than one question. Carol,
The gravel driveway is a no-go for us. The big moving vans are made for paved roads and stick very very easily in gravel (even packed gravel). You will need to rent a smaller Uhaul or Ryder truck and shuttle your goods from the moving van up to your home. Sorry, but that is the best anyone can do in your situation.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Norma R. in PA - May 25, 2008 my ref# A9676**/ I made a reservation. I am not sure of the exact move date and do not want to be held to the reservation if it means I am held to a contract already? Please clarify. Perhaps I mis understood the reservation language as opposed to a formal contract?? Thanks Norma,
Making a reservation online simply holds the rate for you for 24 hours. To finalize your reservation you will need to speak to one of our reservation specialists at 800-876-6839 who can walk you through the final part of the process to book and finalize your move. When you make a reservation online, a relocation specialist will contact you at the provided number within 24 hours.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Karen L. in FL - May 25, 2008 Can you provide me with recommendations for movers to load and unload the truck? Also my arrival destination is in the mountains of Asheville, NC at 2500 ft elevation. Will your truck go up there? Karen,
At the top of our homepage is a link where you can find loading and unloading help.
Getting large moving trucks into the mountains can be very tricky. If you are truly "up the mountain" roads, we cannot bring a moving truck right to your home. You would need to rent a smaller truck and shuttle your goods up the mountain.
Making Moving Easy, Movex from Sarah G. in DE - May 24, 2008 Do you charge for gas? Sarah,
The prices that we quote are all-inclusive. Once you make your reservation, we guarantee your price (up to 45 days in advance).
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Kimberly M. in VA - May 22, 2008 We are comparing quotes for a move from Richmond,VA to Boise,ID. Some companies have registered with Better Bussiness Bureau. What are your companies credentials? Kimberly,
We are glad you asked. Movex is a fully-accredited member of the Better Business Bureau of West Central Florida and has a Satisfactory rating (the best rating available). To be an accredited member, you must demonstrate excellent customer service and be a part of the BBB arbitration council. We are proud of our status with the organization.
Making Moving Easy, Movex from Laura L. in TX - May 21, 2008 How soon does payment need to be made if I want to make a booking? Laura,
We require a credit card to make your reservation. The funds are authorized 5 days prior to loading.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Lori L. in VA - May 18, 2008 We are retiring Navy...going home from Virginia to San Antonio< Tx...projected move date July 15, 2008. We are moving contents of 14 X 80 3 bedroom mobile home and outside furniture and 10 X 10 shed...are any items not allowed how much notice to reserve, and any other help you can provide???thank-you, Lori Lori,
Summer is always the busiest season. If you know you are moving, I would reserve now as we will honor rates for 60 days once a reservation is made. If you wait and gas prices continue to go up, you may pay a higher rate later (an prices are inching up daily with fuel costs).
With a shipment as large as yours, I would recommend a full moving truck. If this is moving in the military DITY program, ask your relocation specialist about getting certified weight tickets so that you can get reimbursed for your move. Depending on your rank and military moving allowance, you may be able to move and still have a nice sum of money left over at the end of the relocation.
Moving Better, Movex from ZOILO L. in NE - May 12, 2008 I would like to ask if Movex offers moving within state? Zoilo,
Sorry, Movex only offers service on state-to-state moves.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Myra C. in UT - May 11, 2008 Does your quote include the ferry cost to get onto the island? Myra,
Movex only services direct points. If your move requires a ferry, that charge would, in fact, be extra. Also, Movex moving vans are often too large for ferrys. You may need to rent a smaller truck that is allowed on the ferry and shuttle the goods. You will need to speak to one of our relocation specialists for all of the details as that is a more complicated service to provide.
Making Moving Easier (and this is a tough move!), MOVEX from k G. in TX - May 11, 2008 what if you run out of space on moving day? K,
We recommend that you order an extra couple of feet so that this does not happen. If you do need extra space on moving day (and it is available), the cost per foot of truck is equal to what you paid per foot for the rest of the moving truck.
For example. If you order 10ft of truck space for $1200. The cost per extra foot of space would be $120.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Stephen P. in MN - May 6, 2008 Do your trucks have air ride trailers? Stephen,
Yes, Movex offers premier relocation services on air-ride moving trailers.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Allen T. in MN - April 6, 2008 Can I move a motorcycle in the truck with my home goods? If so, do you provide a special motorcycle chock/adaptor to hold the bike in palce? Allen,
You can certainly put your motorcycle on the moving truck. We provide furniture blankets, loading ramps, and tie-down straps..however, we do not provide special motorcycle chocks. I would suggest going to your local motorcycle dealer and purchasing a set so that your bike won't fall over during transit.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Sarah W. in NH - March 31, 2008 Since I am only moving one-way and I do not have a car, would I be able to ride with the driver? Sarah,
Unfortunately, we have a "no-riders" policy. There are insurance liability issues with transporting passengers.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Charles B. in AK - March 23, 2008 What are your moving boundaries? Also what are the minimal load size that you require to move? Thank you Charles,
We can provide moving truck service to anywhere in the contiguous United States. We do have some small shipping options for International moves (or, in your case, moves to Alaska), but these opportunities are limited to a "boxes only" shipping service. If you would like to discuss options, call us at 800-876-6839 and ask to speak with Kim. She handles all of our small, overseas shipments.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Georgia V. in UT - March 13, 2008 Hi! We are moving to Canada, Do you Guys can help us? Or you work only within the United States.? Georgia,
Sorry, Movex is only available for service in the United States. Homeland security had multiple issues with international "self-load" shipments.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Chris H. in TX - February 20, 2008 Do you move motorcyles as well? I've typically moved it in the same compartment as the furniture and boxes by securely strapping it to the side of the (rented) moving truck using bagged pillows/blankets as a filler and spacer. Chris,
Movex does move motorcycles. It would go in the moving truck just like you mention above. Movex will also provide, padding and straps to secure your bike. We are the only self-service mover that provides air-ride trucks with furniture pads, loading ramps, and a dolly included for no extra charge.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from kazi H. in NY - February 19, 2008 how much does it cost to move to veracruz, Mexico from NY, USA. Kazi,
Movex is not able to provide moving truck service for International moves. We service any point in the contiguous United States.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from judy S. in FL - February 19, 2008 do you drive to pa Judy,
Movex provides door to door transportation on moves anywhere in the contiguous United States.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Julia Y. in NE - February 12, 2008 Does the movex driver load and unload if requested extra? Also I have 2 locations for belongings - how will that be figured?? The 2 sites are within 5 miles of each other. One my home --- one my storoage unit. What is the cost of full coverage insurance?? Thank You Julia,
We are a self-service moving company, so the drivers are not available to be hired through Movex. When your driver contacts you to schedule your pickup, you can often make arrangements directly with him to help with some of the heavier items and with arranging goods on the truck.
We can make multiple pickups and stops for moving customers. Because this involves relocating the large moving trucks, there is a $95 extra charge for multiple stops.
Movex provides free catastrophic coverage for up to $5000. Additional value packages are available. Please call us at 800-876-6839 and a relocation specialist can "walk you through" the packages available.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Ken C. in AL - February 4, 2008 Can you deliver an empty container to Roskild, Denmark (near Copenhagen), pick it up full and deliver to Huntsville, AL??
Approx cost for a 6x8 container with 2000 pounds? Ken,
Movex can provide you with moving van service anywhere in the contiguous United States. Because of Homeland Security issues involving international shipping containers, we do not provide international moving.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Mike M. in FL - January 30, 2008 I am an absolute clean freak...OCD clean. You can't imagine how stressful it is having your personal belongings put into a truck that you have know idea what has previously been inside. Do you clean between moves, etc?? THanks. Mike,
You and I share the same pet peeve. I am NOT one for disgusting things... The moving trucks are always neat and in order. We only ship household goods so you don't have to worry about dirty freight being loaded around your goods (like you would have to worry when using one of our freight competitors).
That being said, we are not in there with a bottle of Lysol between moves. Our trucks are clean, but not sterile... I guarantee that we will be better than any other mover working with the general public.
Making Moving Cleaner, Movex from Bill S. in FL - January 30, 2008 I will need a full truck. I can't get the quote to work. Going from 47374 to Bushnell FLorida 33513. February 5th Bill,
A relocation specialist has already worked out prices for a moving truck for you and should have emailed them already. If you have any other questions, you can ask here or contact us directly at 800-876-6839.
Making Moving Easier, movex from Karen W. in MN - January 30, 2008 My husband and I might be the only people moving boxes. I was quoted only 6 hours to move our things. What if we need more time? How much will the extra time cost? Karen,
More time to load should never be a problem. If you need an extra day, there is a charge, but a couple of extra hours should not be a problem. Contact your relocation specialist for details.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Becky F. in KS - January 28, 2008 My mother-in-law has a Victrola at her home in Los Angeles that we need to get back to our home in Kansas City, KS. Is it better to fly out to L.A. and rent a vehicle to bring it back or arrange for the item to be shipped to us? If the latter, how? Thanks. Becky,
By the time that you factor in the cost of flying, renting a truck, putting fuel in that truck, and wasting 4 to 5 days driving a rental truck across the country, this would appear to be a fantastic option for you.
We will bring the moving truck to your mother-in-law's home. You will have the victrola loaded. We will then take it to your home in Kansas where you would have it unloaded. Movex should be a great option for you.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Sarraju R. in CA - January 19, 2008 I am planning to relocate to India and at least one of the movers and shippers I talked with told me that they do not accept packed by ownde (PBO) boxes as DHS regulations forbid this. I have'nt been able to find the relevant DHS rgulation - am I being scammed?regulations but Sarraju,
They are absolutely correct. All international moves need to be properly packed and, more importantly, manifested for customs. For that reason, Movex is not able to participate in international shipping using our methods of self-service moving.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from curtis T. in CA - January 14, 2008 i know that the trucks come with hand trucks to help load the truck and all the straps and blanets as well but does it come with boxes and tape? Curtis,
The moving trucks come equipped with everything that you need to move EXCEPT the boxes and tape as the boxing should be completed prior to the arrival of the van for loading. We look forward to helping you.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from John B. in DC - January 6, 2008 What do you mean by "compartment"? What actually divides one person's load from another's - is it a reasonably solid wall that you stack things against, or just some sort of fabric divider?
Thanks JB John,
Great question. The dividers are made up of two load bars and heavy plywood. You can stack against them. The load bars hook into the sides of the moving truck and brace in place the two sheets of plywood. This is standard equipment on all professional moving vans.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Luann L. in NY - December 30, 2007 Can I use your service moving inside the same state? I will move from west New York to Long Island, NY. Thanks! Luann,
Movex is licensed to provide state-to-state services on moving trucks. We do have movers in almost every state that we work with on a regular basis and refer in-state business to those partners.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Leonard W. in TX - December 30, 2007 i need to know what is the % drivers are there on time. Time is very important. are they contracted or employed? Leaonard,
Movex has one of the best "on-time" percentages in the industry at 96%. We also have a limited money-back guarantee if moving trucks arranged by us are not there on time (see contract for details). The drivers are all contracted and compensation is based on on-time pickups and deliveries so they are very conscientious.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Diane S. in FL - December 30, 2007 I am trying to get a free quote but everytime I click on get a quote it takes me to a blank page that just has the letters cea on the page..please email with a quote for two futons, an amoire, 2 night tables, a full bed and a small dining room table and chairs...some misc boxes...Diane Diane,
We got all of your requests and the quote form has been fixed. Thank you for the heads-up. A relocation specialist will be with you shortly with some pricing.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Karen M. in FL - December 27, 2007 Do your drivers help with heavy lifting such as washers and dryers and trunks? Karen,
Movex provides you with a method of self-service moving. The customer provides the loading and unloading of the moving truck. If you need help with the loading and unloading, we suggest contacting Eagle Labor Management. There is a link at the top of this page. They have nationwide helpers that can work with you to load and unload the heavy items at a very reasonable rate.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Stacey H. in NY - December 27, 2007 i'm moving from manhattan to denver - can your trucks load in an urban setting like new york city? Stacey,
While the moving trucks can service most areas, New York City is not one of them. The best we can do is to have you shuttle your goods to a designated warehouse in New Jersey and then load them on the moving truck there.
Making Moving Easier, Movex. from lydia W. in FL - December 19, 2007 Looks like a great service...how do prices compare with the big movers? Also...they want to come pick up our things on one truck take it somewhere else and reload it on a semi...I am not comfortable with that...how do you do it??? What would be the chances of getting a mover 21 or 21nd of dec all the way across country?????? fl to ca??
very interesting..glad I stumbled across your web page!!! Lydia,
It is a great service! Our prices should be 30 to 40% less than a full-service mover's price. With Movex you load your household onto the moving truck and into its own compartment. It then travels to your home where you unload it. Full-service movers take your goods back to a warehouse where they are subjected to unnecessary handling with an unload and reload. This will also add a considerable amount of time to your transit. Because our orders travel direct, our transit times are the most efficient in the industry.
If you want to book for the 21st of December, now is the time to do it. A lot of customers want to book to move over the holiday and moving trucks are in high demand. We can certainly accommodate just about any request.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Michael R. in TN - December 17, 2007 I have an unexpected move that has to happen in the next week to two (still haven't found a house to move into). What's the availability and how long do I have to load/unload your truck? Michael,
We need 72 hours notice to get a moving truck in place for you (possibly more depending on where you live). The amount of time that you have to load the moving van is dependent on how much space that you order. If you call our offices at 800-876-6839, one of our relocation specialists can fill you in on the details and pricing as well as book your move.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Jacob C. in MD - December 15, 2007 I was just informed of a new military PCS move for me this coming May 2008. I am looking into doing a do-it-yourself move. I am wondering about the competiveness of your company vs. rental vans and the time it will take to transport my goods from Montgomery County, MD to San Antonio. I have a large 2 bedroom apartment, with about 4000-4500 lbs. of goods. Additionally, I will have 1-2 cars to move as well (depending on the cost of your moving options; the cars are 1997 Geo Prizm and 2005 Toyota Corolla). Thanks. Jacob,
Our military moving program is the best in the country and will allow you to MAKE A PROFIT on your relocation.
While Movex charges you for the space that you use on the truck, the military will PAY YOU BASED ON THE WEIGHT THAT YOU MOVE!. Movex will provide you with certified weight tickets of how much your entire shipment weighed. You can load your furniture and car onto the truck and get paid by the military based on how much a FULL-SERVICE move would have cost for that weight.
Because you arrange the move and do the loading and unloading, you, the military member, are allowed to keep the difference between what the government pays you and what Movex charges.
It is a great program and a huge benefit for our military personnel.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Claudia R. in NC - December 15, 2007 I have to move my things from Miami to NC, it's a one bedroom small apartment. Below average amount of furniture. How much will it run? Are certain dates cheaper? Is Christmas cheaper?? Claudia,
In spite of this wild economy, our moving rates are pretty stable. Fuel prices, while sky-high, have been hovering around $3.30 (diesel) a gallon and our rates have adjusted accordingly.
The week between Christmas and New Years is actually very busy because moving expenses are only deductible in the year that the move occured. Some dates are already full that week, so make your reservations now to assure that a moving truck is available for your move.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from lydia W. in FL - December 15, 2007 sorry another question...we have 5X8 enclosed utility trailers...could these also be put on the trucks..I see you do vehicles..just wondering about trailers...and let me get this straight we are renting space..a truck not weight correct...what is max weight for the trucks????? really an interesting concept!!!!
how is the back of the trucks for loading large things like hot tubs and vehicles??? ramps??? and any suggestions how you would get something big like a hot tub on the truck..anyone..out tere ever done that??? Thanks again Lydia,
The interior dimensions of the moving van are 8.5ft wide by 9ft tall. Unfortunately, the 5x8 utility trailer will not fit because of the wheel wells sticking out on either side of it. The 5x8 dimension indicates the interior width of your trailer and does not take into consideration the overall width.
Yes, you are basically renting space on a fully-equipped moving van. The max weight that you can put on the trucks is 22,000# Please remember that you need to speak with one of our relocation specialists if you have something other than household goods to load on the moving truck. Things like extremely heavy tools and multiple boxes of books (ie. 200 book boxes out of a library) take some special consideration when loading as we cannot overload any one axle on the trailer.
The ramps are large enough to accommodate most vehicles. If you put a hot tup up on its side on a 4 wheel dolly, you can have four strong helpers roll it up into the back of the truck. You could then use the pads provided by Movex to cushion it and the straps provided by Movex to strap it to the wall.
Hope this answers your questions, we look forward to serving you.
Making Moving Easier, Movex from Stacy B. in CA - December 11, 2007 I am moving from Clovis, CA to Austin, TX around Christmas time. Do you have service over Christmas? Also, we have our belongings in 3 different locations (2 sep. storage units as well as our house), how would that work? Stacy,
Believe it or not, the week between Christmas and New Years is one of our busiest. A lot of customers take the opportunity to move then so that they can claim the deduction on their taxes (most moving expenses are tax deductible). We will be open and providing moving truck services nationwide over the holiday. That being said, availability is at a premium. Book your moves early.
Movex is the only self-service mover that can accommodate multiple pick ups. The driver stays with the moving truck and is available to move it to different locations for multiple pickups and deliveries.
Making Moving Easier, Movex
from Lisa J. in MT - December 11, 2007 I am moving from Hamilton, Montana 59840 to Boulder, Colorado 80304
Do you service the Hamilton area? Lisa,
Hamilton, MT is too far "off the beaten path" for us to service. A good rule of thumb for Movex and moving truck service in Montana is that it needs to be within 40 miles of I90 for us to service.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Theo K. in NY - December 5, 2007 I need to move from Niagara falls NY to Plano TX within the next 3 days (We plan on leaving on 12/06. I also may need a car transported. How much advance notice is needed? Theo,
Movex has more availability and quicker transit times than any comparable service. We normally can provide you a moving truck anywhere in the country with 72 hours notice (we prefer much more notice than that, but we should be able to help you). One of our relocation specialists will be with you shortly to help with the details.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Keith P. in NC - November 29, 2007 My stepson needs to move a small amount of household furniture (2 rooms) and his 97 4Runner from Charlotte,NC to college in Vancouver, BC CANADA. Who would you suggest to handle a move like that and can he ride with the driver? Keith,
You will need to call a full-service mover to cross the border. International moving requires a certified manifest of everything that was loaded onto the moving truck. You cannot make that manifest yourself for a self-service move.
Making Moving Better, Movex from l G. in MO - November 22, 2007 IS THERE A MINIMUM MILEAGE, STAYING IN SAME STATE AND MOVING ABOUT 200 MILES While Movex does not have a minimum mileage, we do require that you cross state lines. Movex is licensed by the DOT for interstate transportation only.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Darlene F. in CT - November 19, 2007 We're planning a move from E.Hampton,CT to Las Vegas,NV. We have a storage unit 10x20. Do you also transport Motorcyles. I have filled in the moving quote however it states there is an error. I can not find an error in the info I submitted. Darlene,
Sometimes the system has trouble processing the prefix (ie. the E. of E. Hampton). It still sends the quote to our relocation specialists who will promptly return a quote to you. There is no need to submit more than one time.
Making Moving Better, Movex. from S E. in PA - November 19, 2007 It is now 2:00 AM, Friday November 16, 2007. When is the soonest Movex could have a truck at my Philadelphia home for loading? S,
Our office is open 6 days a week. In some circumstances, we can get you a moving truck the next business day. It is always better to book your move no less than a week in advance to be assured that one will be available for you on moving day.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Joanne R. in IA - November 8, 2007 Could I get an estimate to move a piano from our home (Traer, IA) to my daughter in Scottsdale. AZ? The dimensions are 57" wide X 24" deep X 41" high. Thank you. Joanne,
We have forwarded your request to one of our moving partners that moves single pieces (ie. piano moves). They will be contacting you shortly. Movex has a minimum shipment size of 6ft on the moving truck. That would be overkill for your move unless the piano you were moving was very expensive and needed our equipment (air-ride and furniture pads)to secure it from damage.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Hany E. in FL - October 30, 2007 Can I pick up the truck from Florida and drop it off somewhere around the Missouri area. Hany,
Movex actually provides the truck, fuel, driver, moving equipment, and door-to-door service. You provide the loading and unloading. We are, in fact, renting you space on a moving van. Since we provide the driver, there is no need to pickup or drop off the truck... very convenient!
Making Moving Better, Movex from Brenda M. in AR - October 20, 2007 We are moving from one town in AR to another town about 70 miles away. We have a 3+ Bedroom home to move. Will you move that short of a distance? Brenda,
Moves is a long-distance self-service mover. It really does not make much financial sense to use us on moves that are less than 200 miles. After that, our moving truck rates are very competitive.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Voytek Z. in NJ - October 18, 2007 I will be moving in September 2008 from Wallington, NJ to Vancouver, BC Canada. Does your company do international moving and if so, how much would such a move cost? Voytek,
Being a self-service mover (you load, we drive), Movex cannot provide moving truck service internationally. Homeland Security will not let a shipment across the border without a certified manifest. That can only be provided by a full-service, internationally licensed mover. We suggest calling United Vanlines for that type of service.
Making Moving Better, Movex from TRUDY S. in WV - October 12, 2007 I will be moving from WV to MD in the next 2 months. I don't have an exact date, how much advance notice do I need to give to get a quote and reserve a truck for my move? Trudy,
You can get a quote from Movex now that should not change much over the next two months. Our business has some "supply and demand" pricing fluctuations, but nothing outrageous.
You can make your reservations (and are encouraged to make your reservations) as much as 60 days in advance. Moving trucks are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Sheryl R. in LA - October 8, 2007 I need a bedroom set and living room set moved from New Orleans LA to Phoenix AZ on Nov 7, 8, or 9. Do you have a truck going at that time? Can you give me an approx on what it would cost? Sheryl,
Movex has a very large fleet of available moving trucks. We literally have trucks available in almost every market on a weekly basis.
We received your quote request from the form that you filled out above. One of our relocation specialists will have pricing for those dates back to you shortly.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Shannon Z. in CA - October 5, 2007 I got married in Minnesota in August and all of our shower and wedding gifts are still there, including a trunk, curio cabinet, my preserved dress and preserved bouquet. Wondering what the best way is to get them to us here in San Jose, CA... Shannon,
The size of the trunk and curio cabinet could be the difference between us being a good deal and us being too expensive. Our smallest shipment on the moving trucks would be 6ft x 8.5ft x 9ft. If you had a big wedding and have a mountain of gifts to ship, we are the best and most inexpensive way to go. If that would be entirely too much space, you might want to consider shipping everything via UPS ground or Fedex ground. However, their pricing is much higher for less space.
Making Moving Better, Movex from nathan W. in TX - October 3, 2007 Any recommendations on self-moving from Dallas, TX area to Colima, Colima Mexico? Nathan,
Movex does not provide international service. There are some other posts here that explain why self-service moving trucks are not available for international shipments. Our suggestion is to call a major vanline like United Van Lines. They have a whole department that does nothing but international moving. Sorry we can't be of more assistance.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Michael S. in NJ - October 3, 2007 I have a senior living in a bedroom in my home in Princeton, NJ. I need to move her belongings to Nashville, TN. There are no appliances or furniture to move just a ton of clothes .. Any suggestions are welcomed. Michael,
If all that you are shipping is clothes, a moving truck is not what you need. I would suggest boxing everything up and shipping it via UPS. In the long run, that will be the least stressful, and quite possibly, most inexpensive way to get them back to TN.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Cheryl D. in NE - September 27, 2007 We are planning a move to TN. I have many household plants. I see that they are one of the items that are not allowed to put in the truck. Is that because of law in going over state lines or is it they may die? Thank you Cheryl,
By law, you cannot transport live plants on a moving truck without going through an agricultural inspection in each state (if you have travelled on the interstate, you see these stations at every state border). Because of the various permit and inspection issues, we do not transport live plants on our moving vans.
Making Moving Better, Movex from david D. in NV - September 19, 2007 i am planning to move from nv to va 1 room all ready packed can you help me David,
That is what we do! Movex will arrange for a moving truck to come to your home. That moving truck will be equipped with all of the "stuff" you need to move, including: furniture blankets, tie-down straps, loading ramps, and a dolly. You load your goods into their own compartment on the moving truck. We transport to your destination where you unload. It is easy, inexpensive, and a great way to move.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Jim L. in AZ - September 18, 2007 I wish to move some tools including large boxes of hand and power tools, an air compressor, and assorted other not large tools as well as a motorcycle, several workbenches and a modest amount of furniture. Can you do this? Jim,
You can certainly load everything that you have mentioned here into the space that you rent on the moving truck. The only issue that you might have is that we contract to move household goods and the tools would not be covered by our catastrophic loss coverage. You will need to check with your homeowner's insurance and make sure that they would cover you in the event of a loss.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Ms S. in GA - September 14, 2007 Do you provide moving servics from the lower "48" to Alaksa?
Thank you! Ms. Sherrill,
We provide moving truck rental services to the lower 48, but a trip to Alaska involves a bit of a drive through Canada. Unforunately, Homeland Security does not look favorably on customers crossing the border without a certified manifest. That manifest can only be generated by an International mover... which Movex is not.
Good luck in Alaska. We all think it is pretty neat up there!
Making Moving Better, Movex from L M. in ME - September 12, 2007 I want to rent a cargo van from Portland ME, to DC end of Sept. I just need it one way. Do you do this? L,
We do not provide cargo van rental. We can get you the equivalent amount of space on a moving truck and provide service from Portland to DC. The pricing should be very competitive also. As mentioned in the other posts, fill out the request form and a relocation specialist will quickly provide you with pricing and availability.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Charles D. in KS - September 10, 2007 Do you have a truck that goes from Kansas City, Kansas to Pine Bluff, Arkansas Charles,
Movex is able to service just about any move in the contiguous United States, including the locations that you have listed above.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Jennifer U. in CA - September 7, 2007 I am looking to move from San Diego, CA to Vancouver, WA. I have two cats and a dog, and am not sure of the best way to transport them. Can Movex help me with this? Jennifer,
This question actually comes up quite a bit. We are great at providing moving trucks for shipping furniture. Unfortunatley, we don't have any pet shipping affiliates. I would google "pet shipping" to find a service that could help.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Daniel C. in NY - September 7, 2007 Where can I park a truck with a moving trailer in tow over night as close to Manhattan as possible. Im willing to park in New Jersey as well. Daniel,
Any of the I95 and I80 exits that have a large parking area/truckstop would be a great place to meet the moving truck for shuttling into Manhattan.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Brenda C. in GA - September 5, 2007 I need to move from Ga. to Canada. Do you do that? Brenda,
Sorry, because of the nature of self-service moving (you loading the moving truck), we cannot provide international service. There is no way to clear customs without a certified manifest. A full-service mover that provides a certified manifest is a must for your job.
Making Moving Better, Movex from MK G. in MO - September 5, 2007 I need to move some containers of potted plants from Missouri to Maryland. I understand most states have restrictions on moving plants to reduce the spread of pests/diseases. Other than driving them myself, what other options may exist? MK,
Even driving them yourself is prohibited without proper permitting. You will notice on most interstates that their are agricultural checkpoints at state lines. All moving trucks and rental trucks are subject to search. If you are not properly permitted to transport live plants, you can end up getting them confiscated. To get more information, you should call the Department of Agriculture.
Making Moving Better, Movex from elias E. in TX - September 2, 2007 hi i want to move from texas to mexico how do i do that??? Elias,
Because of the nature of self-service moving (the customer loading and unloading), customs can be very tricky. Therefore, we do not have moving trucks that can travel into Mexico. Sorry we cannot be of assistance.
Making Moving Better, Movex from javer G. in NY - August 26, 2007 I want to know if you rent a trailer to move to mexico
Javer,
Sorry, but we do not have moving truck service to Mexico. We can, however, get you to the border towns where you can transfer your shipment.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Audrey L. in MI - August 25, 2007 I am inquiring about a moving company that may help my mother move her furniture into a storage....or drive it to michigan. She is elderly and needs it to be moved to her home in MI
Audrey,
We can help you with self-service moving... in layman's terms, we provide the truck, fuel, equipment, driver, and door-to-door service. If you are going to be moving your mother to Michigan and are going to be at origin to assist with loading, we would be a good choice. If you are trying to accomplish the move and will not be there, you need to select a full-service mover that can take care of all of it.
Hope this helps. Good luck with your mom.
Movex. from C S. in CA - August 15, 2007 I would like to know how much it is to rent a cargo van. I would like to drive it one way from Corona, CA to Poulsbo, WA. Please help me find prices. Thanks! Stanley,
Sorry we cannot help you with that type of moving van rental. We rent space on moving trucks and provide the transportation piece. The customer provides the loading and unloading.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Keith R. in PA - August 10, 2007 movex, need some help, son has to move from pa to wy or fl shortly.has 29 ft 5th wheeler to move and no truck. is there a way to do this? if he sells rv, he'll need to move belongings from rv to next job. any ideas?? any & all ideas greatly appreciated Keith,
We would be happy to get him a moving truck that he could load all of his goods into and move to either location. We don't have any suggestions on what to do with that RV. If he can't tow it himself, there are no other services that we know of that could help him.
Movex from Kathleen K. in AK - August 2, 2007 Tried the free quote, but it failed to work. Looking for quote from Anchorage, AK to Newport, RI for 3 bedroom house.
Thanks. Kathy Kathy,
It failed because you are moving from Anchorage. We only service the 48 contiguous United States. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Movex from Christy M. in CA - July 31, 2007 I have a 6 seat dining set + buffet dresser and boxes. No other furniture. My items fit in a 10x20 storage unti with room to spare. Will I be charged for the price of a 10x20? or how can I find out a close, realistic estimate? Also, do ever do payment plans? Christy,
A relocation specialist will be with you shortly. We do not give out pricing in the forum area of the website as there are too many variables that can effect the rate that we cannot cover in this format. Once we have a bit more information, our representative will give you guaranteed pricing on an appropriate space on on of the moving trucks.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, but we do not have any payment plans available.
Making Moving Better, Movex from RoxAnne P. in AR - July 26, 2007 I am looking to move from Greenwood, AR to Baltimore, MD sometime after the first of the year. I only have about one 'room's worth of stuff but I also want to move my 1981 pickup truck.
I don't wish to put such an old truck through 1200 miles of moving but without it I have no way of getting to Baltmore. Thus, bringing me to my question: Does Movex allow ride-alongs?
RoxAnne RoxAnne,
Unfortunately, the insurance companies frown on ride-alongs on moving trucks. There is simply too much potential liability for us to allow it. Sorry.
Movex from Eric E. in CT - July 25, 2007 I have a 2000 lb bridgeport milling machine to move as well. can this be done? Eric,
Your machine can certainly go inside the moving truck and be secured. Getting it into the truck may be a challenge, but if you have the means, it can certainly go with your shipment.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Valerie C. in NY - July 24, 2007 I am looking to move from westchester-NY to los angeles-CA, I want to move a mitsu-montero SUV and a lincoln LS sedan, awell some furniture, a queen size bed, 2 pc sofa, a desk, 2 dressers,as well as two TV's, etc and alot of clothing. How much would this cost? Would this all be picked up? How long would it arrive? Another thing, we would have a week to look for a place, how would this work? Valerie,
All great questions, but a bit too much for this forum. We will have a relocation specialist contact you to get you guaranteed pricing and answers to all of your questions.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Stephanie D. in CA - July 21, 2007 I am considering placing a bid for bedroom furniture on ebay, however the furniture is in WI and I am in CA. Would your services work for me? Total weight would be approx. 450lbs. I'm not certain about space requirements. Thank you. Stephanie,
We probably would not be a good option for a shipment that small. We provide moving truck service and have minimum shipment sizes of 6ft or 2000#. That would put us way out of the range of what you would be prudent to invest in shipping that furniture. I don't have any recommendations other than you should probably avoid using freight companies for shipping furniture unless it is boxed.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Regina R. in MI - July 20, 2007 I received the info from Jennifer and we are seriously considering this action for our move to Utah. I would like to know how long we have to load the truck as well as how long to unload it? If we load on 8/31/07 what is the approximate time of arrival in Utah? Jennifer has the particulars on your shipment and will be contacting you shortly with answers on you moving truck for the end of August.
Making Moving Better,
Movex from arturo G. in NY - July 19, 2007 do you allow plant's to be part of the move ?? Arturo,
Due to agricultural restrictions, moving trucks are not allowed to ship plants across state lines. That being said, this time of year is so hot that plants will generally not live even if you were allowed to move them.
Making Moving Better, Movex from James V. in KS - July 17, 2007 How many blankets, tie down straps, etc. are available as part of the move? If need be, can I rent more? James,
The moving trucks are "fully-equipped" which means, in general, there are 3 blankets available per linear foot and 1 strap for every 5 ft of space on the moving van. There should not be a need to rent additional equipment. But if you need more than what is outlined above, it may or may not be available. If it is, you can use it at no charge. You should take this availability into consideration when planning your loading.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Larry B. in NY - July 11, 2007 I need to reserve space in front of my apartment in Brooklyn in order to load the moving truck. How do I obtain a permit to reserve the space? Larry,
I am sorry but we no longer offer service into or out of Brooklyn and Manhattan. The moving trucks that we utilize are 53' long and parking has become so much of an issue that we discontinued service.
If you would like to shuttle your goods to the moving truck for transport to a distant location, one of our relocation specialists can certainly assist you with making those arrangements.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Linda P. in CA - July 10, 2007 I have a living room sectional I need to take from Norwalk California to Rosarito, Baja California Mexico. Do you provide that service? Linda,
Due to the problem of clearing customs with a "self-loaded" shipment, we cannot service international moves. We can only provide moving truck service within the contiguous United States.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Abigail C. in NY - July 10, 2007 do you accept major credit cards for payment? thank you. Abigail,
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. In order to keep costs as low as possible, we do not accept American Express.
Making Moving Better, Movex
from darrell E. in KY - July 3, 2007 what is your service areas Darell,
We are able to provide service on moving trucks anywhere in the "lower 48". We are not able to assist with overseas or international shipping.
Making Moving Better, Movex from KathyLynn S. in CA - June 25, 2007 How far in advance do i need to call to schedule the move with your company? My husband is in the military and we wont know until the last minute ..... KathyLynn,
Movex has a very large network of moving trucks to choose from so we can generally provide service with as little as 72 hours notice. That being said, the sooner you book in advance, the better the pricing and the more reliable the service.
If you are moving in the summertime or at the end of the month, more notice is better.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Joan M. in CA - June 20, 2007 Where in CA are you located? Unable to find your offices on your www. We live in Milpitas, CA near San Jose Thank You Joan,
While we provide moving truck services to any location in the contiguous US, our offices are located at:
7702 Woodland Center Blvd. Tampa, FL 33614
Movex from Hasan C. in CT - June 19, 2007 I have plans to move around June 20th 2007 from Hamden Ct to Islip Ny ! The only the question that strikes me is that would I be charged for the truck or the driver ! or would I get a total cost per hour for both of them ? and do you charge by mileage with hours or do you charge by hours only ? are there any hidden costs besides that ? Hasan,
Movex pricing for transportation on moving trucks is unlike truck rental. You do not pay by the hour. We give you a flat rate based on the size truck that you need and the distance that you will be travelling. The time of year also affects the rates. Summer moves cost a bit more than winter moves.
There are no hidden fees with Movex and our pricing includes the use of the moving truck, driver, furniture pads, loading ramps, tie-down straps, and dolly. All prices are guaranteed.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Maryam M. in CO - June 18, 2007 I recently moved from Dubai to Denver. Roughly 90% of my furniture and belongings are still boxed and wrapped. I am now moving to Dallas and United has said that I have to unpack EVERYTHING so that they can REPACK. It is the most ridiculous I have ever heard of. They said it is because regulations do not allow international shipping materials when crossing state lines. Is this true? Where does it state that? Maryam,
I have never heard of a regulation like that. If you were moving back to Dubai and had to clear customs again, that would be understandable. But moving domestically in the States???
The only other explanation that I could think of would be if you are looking for United to insure the goods that are packed up. If you are, they probably want to verify that the goods are not damaged prior to loading them on the moving truck and taking responsibility for them. If that is the case, you could sign off on the goods that are already packed as "PBO" (packed by owner). They would not be insured, but at least you would not be paying to have them upacked and repacked onto the moving van.
Movex from Danielle H. in IN - June 15, 2007 If I am moving a one bedroom apartment(including bedroom, couches, small dinning room table, and some extras) and my car, what are the chances that other shipments will be on the same truck? Danielle,
The moving trucks are 53ft long. So chances are very good that the order outlined above would have at least one other customer on the truck. No worries though, each shipment is separated from others on the moving van by walls at either end. Using our service is a safe and secure way to move your household.
Movex from Mora S. in CA - June 11, 2007 We are moving from southern california to guadalajara mexico. Do your trucks move internationally? If not, do you recommend anyone who does? I love this question/answer feature! Movex rocks! Mora,
Thank you for the enthusiastic response to our website. I am afraid that you will not be as enthusiastic about the answer to your question. We can get you to the border with the moving truck, but because of the nature of our business (customer loading and unloading), we are not able to assist you internationally. from Julie Y. in GA - June 11, 2007 I am moving from Atlanta to New York to a furnished apartment. I only need to move my clothes. Does Movex have a minimum? What is the best way to do this without incurring high costs? Julie,
Our minimum shipment is $890 due to the fact that we would be bringing a full-sized moving truck to your house for the pickup. If you are just moving your clothing, it will be much less expensive to box them nicely and ship them UPS.
Movex from Scott K. in MI - June 8, 2007 I need to move an 8' x 8' hot tub what would be the best way to do this? I would be moving it about 250 mi,would it be best to ship on its side or flat? Scott,
The best way to ship a hot tub is on its side. If you lay it flat, the liner could tear away from the frame if the moving truck hit a big bump.
Movex from Laura P. in IL - June 5, 2007 A829773
What amount is due at time of booking and when is the final amount due? Also, how much time do you allow to load a 10ft? Laura,
Movex does not require a deposit to book your moving truck reservation. However, five days prior to your move, we require payment via credit card, cashier's check, or wire transfer. Most customer's find that using their credit card is the safest and most convenient method of payment.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Keith J. in MA - May 25, 2007 Can you move a 5-6 room house using a 22 foot horse trailer that is 7 feet wide and 7 feet tall? Keith,
You probably could, but we would highly recommend that you don't. Using a truck rental would be better than putting your goods on a spring-ride horse trailer.
We would be happy to help you with some pricing for a moving truck that includes driver, furniture pads, loading ramps, and tie-down straps. Please fill out the form to the left and one of our relocation specialists will quickly work up a price for you.
Movex from Gala C. in CA - May 17, 2007 Do you provide service from CA to Toronto Canada? Gala,
Since we provide self-service moving where the customers load the moving trucks, customs on international shipments gets very iffy. Therefore, we are not able to service international shipments at this time.
Movex from Hanne W. in AK - May 14, 2007 I am moving from Anchorage, Alaska to Ohio and am trying to find a moving company that will ship my household goods. Do you offer service from Alaska? Hanne, Although we think that Anchorage is a lovely city and Alaska is an amazing state, we don't take the moving trucks up there for moves.
If you ship your goods down to Seattle, we would be happy to provide a moving van for you to load down there.
Movex from Fred B. in CO - May 13, 2007 Our move will be from Morrison, CO 80465 to Cedaredge, CO 81413. Do you service this area? Fred,
Unfortunately, we can only provide moving truck service on state-to-state moves. We are not cost effective when compared to rental trucks moving short distances.
Movex from Chris J. in OR - May 12, 2007 i am moving to canada more spaceificly ontario dont have aot to move but do you gys do intrnational? Chris,
Sorry, but due to issues with homeland security, we cannot cross borders with moving trucks loaded by customers. Proper manifests and documentation need to be prepared by a full-service mover for international shipping.
Movex from Ed M. in CA - May 9, 2007 Another Northern California to Washington State move. We live in Fort Bragg, CA and see 70' trucks in town on a daily basis. Can you serve Fort Bragg, CA? We are moving to Olympia,WA Ed,
Most areas west of Hwy 101 have access issues for moving trucks and vehicles over 24ft. Ft Bragg might be far enough south that it is outside the restriction zone to the north. Before making your reservation, you should check with local authorities to make sure that there will be no surprises on moving day. from becky W. in WA - May 8, 2007 I'm moving a 5' baby grand piano. Do you have the dolly to accommodate that? Also, how long to travel about 1100 miles? Becky,
We can provide you with a 4 wheel dolly, but the best bet is to have a professional piano mover come out to load it onto the moving truck. They will have the right equipment and can prep the piano for the long distance move.
It will take approximately 3 days for an 1100 mile move. Movex from Eric K. in OK - May 6, 2007 My mother sold her house in Antlers, OK and is moving to Shawnee, OK. The closing on her house in Antlers is May 21 and must be out. Her new place in Shawnee is not available until May 26. This is an issue of the buyer not wanting to buy the house if she is not out by May 21. What are here options with a moving company? Is there storage available for her belongings for a week? If so, How much would this cost? What are any additional options in this situation? Eric, You will need to call a full-service moving company in Oklahoma to help you with this move. As mentioned in the previous question, we are not able to service moves within the same state. Movex from Christine O. in FL - May 6, 2007 I am moving from west palm beach fl to tarpong spring fla do you do instate moves can i get a quote Christine, Movex is only able to help you with state to state moves. The moving trucks are licensed for state-to-state moving only. Movex from Lynn W. in CA - May 4, 2007 May I ship my favorite plants along with my furniture on my move from Ca. to Va.? Lynn, California has agricultural restrictions (primarily the spread of Gypsy Moths) that will not allow you to ship plants out of the state. So, transporting plants on the moving trucks is strictly prohibited. It is best to give your plants up for adoption to a friendly neighbor. Sorry. Movex from Ryan L. in CA - May 4, 2007 If we make a reservation how long before the move would we have to cancel in the unlikely instance our plans change? Ryan, Plans change all the time with moving. You can cancel your moving truck reservation without penalty up to 72 hours prior to the move. After that, there is generally a truck rerouting fee that varies with how close to your move date you cancel. Making Moving Better Movex from Marilyn H. in MA - May 3, 2007 Do you have a list of things that cannot be moved?
Marilyn, I don't have an official list, but if it burns or blows up, you can't put it on a moving truck.
Remember that household cleaners are very corrosive. If you put clorox in a box and it spills, it will eat the box and ruin everything around it... using common sense is the rule of the day. Making Moving Better Movex from Allyson C. in MA - May 2, 2007 How far in advance do I need to book a move?
Allyson, Summer is the busiest time of the year for moving companies. I would suggest making your reservations as soon as you know when you would like to move. Moving trucks will have especially limited availabiltiy at the end of the month and on weekends. Making Moving Better Movex from richard M. in WI - April 23, 2007 i am planing to move from wi, zip 54241 to chancellor ,sd, 57015, hopefully in the next 3 mos, do you cover this area, ? Richard, Movex is great at handling those "tough to reach" areas. It is our specialty. Making Moving Easier Movex from Jack O. in FL - April 22, 2007 Two questions: One general, one specific.
1. Cost. What is the cost to use your service? Is it a flat fee or is it based on mileage? weight? or some combination?
2. My fiancee and I both own our own houses and have our own furniture. We will be moving into one a new house that we had built. Is it possible to load the truck at one address one day, then have the truck moved to another location aprox. 100 miles away and then continue loading at that location the next day before reaching it final unloading location? Jack, I can give you two answers:
1. Our prices are based on the amount of space that you use (linear feet) and the miles travelled.
2. Movex is the ONLY self-service mover that can accomplish two pickups on the same truck. The charge for a second pickup is only $95.
We look forward to helping you with your upcoming move.
Movex from C. R. in CA - April 20, 2007 Do you own your own fleet of trucks or do you contract out the move to other truck companies? I would worry about my belongings being transfered from one truck to the other and being lost along the way. My friend recently had this happen to her when she moved from Chicago to California and lost about 10 boxes of really valuable items. Movex has a network of licensed, insured, and bonded trucking companies that are exclusively used by us. You don't have to worry about your shipment being transferred when using our service because the driver that picks up your shipment is the one that delivers it and it is never transferred. You have a private compartment on the truck that nobody else has access to. Our competitors take your shipment to freight terminals where it is subject to reloading at freight docks... not exactly secure... and subject to damage from them loading freight with forklifts around your furniture.
You can be confident that Movex offers the safest, most reliable, self-service move in the industry.
Making Moving Better, Movex
from victor M. in WI - April 18, 2007 I am moving from 53098 tto 12567. Am building a house that will require about 3 month storage. Can you handle that? Victor, We always suggest moving your goods to a ministorage at destination. Leaving your goods on a truck for 3 months or in a POD out in the weather for 3 months is a recipe for disaster. We would love to help you with your transport, but won't participate in extended storage on trucks due to damage issues. Making Moving Better Movex from Emily O. in VA - April 18, 2007 Hello, We need to move kitchen cabinets from CA to VA. The cabinet maker typically doesn't ship as they service the local area. These cabinets MUST arrive in perfect condiditon. Is Movex an option for this kind of shipping?
Thank you, Emily Emily, We are probably your BEST option for this. Movex would have an air-ride van equipped with furniture blankets and tie-down straps that we could take to the cabinet maker. They would pad and load everything for transit. You would unload it when it arrived in Virginia. Any other method of shipping is going to involve freight trucks and will be much more prone to damage. Making Moving Better Movex from Glenda L. in GA - April 15, 2007 My family will be moving in June from South Georgia to the Fairbanks, Alaska area. I would like to know if your company services Alaska.
Thanks! Glenda, Sorry, we do not service Alaska at this time. We service the contiguous "lower 48". Thanks, Movex from Michael L. in IL - April 12, 2007 Hi. I will be moving my studio apartment from Chicago, IL to Seattle, WA this June. Right now I'm still in the process of finalizing where exactly I'll be living in Seattle - I'll know for sure by the start of May, but would like to lock-in my reservation now. Is there a penalty or fee for changing the destination address? Can I sign up for the service and add my address when I find out what it is?
Thanks in advance, Mike Mike, With the housing market doing so poorly, a lot of customers are in the same situation. You can lock in your reservations and give us the exact address up until the day of loading. If the address changes, there is no penalty as long as it is in the same city that we originally scheduled. Making Moving Better Movex from Tammie S. in CA - April 9, 2007 I am moving from California to Indiana this summer, do you move that long of a distance? Tammie, The longer the distance you move, the more money that you will save using Movex! We specialize in providing services for self-service long distance moving. Making Moving Better Movex from MARY P. in CO - April 6, 2007 Where do you get your trucks and trailers? Movex has a nationwide network of movers and logistics carriers that we monitor and dispatch. We are the largest "clearing house" for the moving and storage industry. When moving vans have extra space that is moving empty, the movers alert us to the extra space. Our proprietary software matches the available space to the available shipments. That is how we offer great pricing. So, the trucks and trailers that we use are based all over the country and are in a constant state of motion. Movex makes sure that any carrier in its system is licensed, bonded, and insured. That information can be provided to you on request once you have been matched to your carrier. Making Moving Better Movex from Darcie T. in MO - April 6, 2007 were moving our stuff from a storage in newport beach ca, 92663 to a very small town in missouri. mansfield 65704. do you guys service that area? Absolutely! There are very few places that Movex cannot provide service. Making Moving Better Movex from Aparna R. in IL - April 4, 2007 I did not see a place to enter a city in Canada and was unable to enter information for a quote.
I want to get a quote to move from Moline, IL 61265 to Vancouver, BC Canada
Thank You. Aparna, Sorry, but due to customs requirements that cannot be met by a self-service moving company, we do not service Canada. Making Moving Better Movex from carmen J. in NJ - March 29, 2007 who removes the contents of my condo downstairs to the truck Carmen, You can either move the items into the moving truck yourself or you can hire a local mover to load and unload them for you. Movex provides the transportation, all of the equipment, and a driver, but we do not participate in the loading and unloading of the moving truck. Making Moving Better Movex from Mary R. in WI - March 29, 2007 We are moving to Toronto. Do you do Int'l moving? Thanks. Mary, Sorry, but we cannot do international moving. Since the customer does the loading and unloading, customs has manifest issues with self-service moving. You will need to use a full service mover that will make a certified inventory to clear customs. Making Moving Better Movex from David R. in NY - March 28, 2007 my questions is im from new york and moving to louisville, kentucky ~ can you do that ? David, We service almost all of the "lower 48". We can certainly help you with your move. If you are having trouble with the quote generator, please call us at 800-876-6839. Relocation specialists are standing by to assist you. Making Moving Better Movex from Brian B. in TX - March 28, 2007 I have a 50" big screen tv I need to send from Weimar TX to Denver, CO. Any suggestions on cost effective move? Brian, If you are only shipping one item, I would take it to a Packaging Store (UPS store) and have them bubble-wrap, box, and ship it. Moving one piece on a moving truck is going to be cost prohibitive as the minimum shipment charge is $790 and total overkill for what you are doing. Making Moving Better Movex from Lena L. in MN - March 27, 2007 Do you service the Saint Cloud, Minnesota area? Lena, We service most areas in the "lower 48"... and yes, we definitely service St. Cloud. Making Moving Better Movex from Jignesh J. in AZ - March 26, 2007 How can I get a copy of my bill from when I hired you to move my stuff back in March 23rd 2006? All you need to do is call our accounting office at 800-876-6839 and they will gladly send you a receipt. from michelle T. in VA - March 24, 2007 we are moving today an I was wondering how much would the charge will be to move from north tazewell va to tazewell va? Michelle, Our moving trucks are only available for long-distance, state-to-state moves. For local moving, you might want to rent a uhaul or other local moving truck. Making Moving Better Movex from Michele A. in AR - March 22, 2007 To make a reservation to secure my move date, do I have to provide the exact destination address right now, or can I provide that to you later? I will be flying to Oregon to find a place to live a couple months before I move.
Michele, Many of our customers do not provide us a delivery date until the last minute. You can reserve your moving truck with a delivery date of "TBA" or "To be arranged". We only need to make sure that we have a desination city (I know this is obvious, but you would be surprised!). Making Moving Better Movex from John H. in AK - March 19, 2007 What does it cost to move a truck from AK to TN? John, Sorry we cannot help you on that move. Our moving trucks do not service Alaska. Making Moving Better Movex from carmen J. in NJ - March 16, 2007 do you have someone to load the truck are we supposed to do the loading? Carmen, Movex provides the moving truck, driver, and door-to-door transportation (also furniture blankets, loading ramps, tie-down straps, and dolly). We do not provide loading and unloading. If you click on the loading/unloading link on the top of this page, you can request help from Eagle Labor Management. They have helpers in most major markets (and some smaller markets too). They will quickly get you a guaranteed price for their service. Making Moving Better, Movex from Michele A. in AR - March 16, 2007 I have received a quote and am ready to book my move online. What forms of payment do you accept for this process? Michele, We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. You can make a complete guaranteed reservation online (it will generate all of the terms and conditions that will be emailed to you). Once your reservation is made, our accounting department will call you and take the credit card over the phone. We do not email that information for security purposes. We are looking forward to helping you. Making Moving Better Movex from Bob B. in CA - March 16, 2007 Hi - We're already set up with you for a move froom CA to WA this June & are really looking forward to it! One (more) question for you: Do you provide any info or tips on how we should plan to pack the truck? (we've reserved the an entire 53 ft trailer & are moving a 4 bedroom home). Thanks! Bob, Thank you for choosing us! We are looking forward to helping you. You can find packing tips here: http://www.movex.com/resources/packing-tips/ This is a link to our resource page which has a lot of good information on it. Of course, your relocation specialist will also be available for any other questions you may have. Making Moving Better Movex from Carol B. in IA - March 15, 2007 I need to get a large chest of drawers (antique) from Grayslake, Illinois, to Castle Rock, Colorado.
Time is not important - it can wait until you are going that way.
Can you help?
Carol, We could help, but I would suggest going to a Packaging Store or UPS for this. Our service is tied more to moving trucks which gives us minimum shipment sized that would be cost prohibitive for one piece (minimum shipment is $750). Making Moving Better, Movex from Michele A. in AR - March 12, 2007 How far in advance do I need to make a reservation for my move? I will be moving from Arkansas to Oregon in June. Thanks. Michele, For a June move you can never make your reservation too early. All of the kids are out of school and everyone is moving that month. It is by far the busiest of our year. Dates near the 15th and the entire last week of June will be booked up well before May 15th gets here. Book online now and avoid the hassle. Making Moving Better Movex from Carmen G. in CA - March 11, 2007 In a previous question, I had asked if the boxes had to be the moving boxes that you have to purchase or can they be just plain old boxes, meaning various shapes and sizes but you forgot to answer that question. If you would be so kind to answer this one also. Thanks for your time.
Carmen Carmen,
Moving boxes, behind the grocery store boxes, totes, paper or plastic... whatever you have is what works best. With Movex you have the flexibility and convenience of a moving truck being brought to your home. You can load it however you wish (no flammables or explosives, of course).
Making Moving Better Movex from Carmen G. in CA - March 11, 2007 Hi, it's me again. I was reading some of the questions and answers, but now I'm confused. Lori S from WV asked if you delivered the truck to the house, answer was no. Then how does it get delivered?
Thanks
Carmen Carmen, We do deliver the moving truck to your house and provide door-to-door service. Lori had asked if we provided trucks for the customers to drive. We actually provide the driver, fuel, furniture blankets, ramps, dolly, straps, and door-to-door service. Sorry for the confusion. Making Moving Better Movex from Mark E. in MN - March 11, 2007 Do you move between small towns? Mark, Yes, we do. Movex has moving trucks that travel on obscure routes. There are a few towns in Northern Montana and Northern Maine that we do not service, but, for the most part, we service the entire country. Making Moving Better Movex from Lori S. in WV - March 5, 2007 Do you deliver the moving truck for us to load and drive ourself? Lori, Sorry we do not. We provide the moving truck, driver, all of the needed moving equipment (pads, straps, loading ramps, and dolly), and door-to-door service. You will find our prices very competitive. Making Moving Better, Movex from Ann M. in WA - March 5, 2007 Will you move my riding lawn mower? Ann,
Not only will we move your riding lawnmover, but our moving trucks are also equipped with ramps to load them. No other self service mover has the ramps that are capable of doing this! Making Moving Better Movex from ALLAN H. in ID - March 2, 2007 EVERY saturday we'll need a U-Haul small truck, plus a driver to take our Street Market Booth Equipment and our merchandize, bakery goods, to the Street Market site,in downtown Boise, at 8 am and then return to pick us up at 2 pm - We will do all the loading and unloading necessary - Is this type of service possible to obtain from U-Haul ?? Please advise !!! Please advise ASAP - Allan,
I can't answer for Uhaul. I can tell you that our moving truck service has to cross state lines as we are licensed for interstate moving truck commerce.
I would call your local uhaul dealer and see if they have moving trucks available for that kind of service. If they don't, try a local mover. Good Luck.
Making Moving Better Movex from Don C. in TN - February 28, 2007 We have a 3BR house plus rec room & liv room, but not all furn will move. We will not move until abt Feb, 2008. I put in rate req from Hendersonville, TN to Shelbyville, KY, which is where we WANT to move to, but may have to settle for a diff location in Louisville area. Had to use a 2007 date to get quote. Just needing gen rate est now for planning. Question is: How much lead time do you normally need to confirm a moving date that will have to be "set in stone" so us 65 yr olds can arrange load/unload help in advance? Don, We can reserve and guarantee dates on your moving truck as far in advance as 60 days. The way that fuel has been fluctuating up and down, we really cannot book any more in advance of that.
Making Moving Better Movex from joni H. in CO - February 27, 2007 I am hauling boxes, no furniture, 2 motorcycles, 4 wheeler, tool boxes, misc. tools and shop equipment and chemicals. Will I have a problem at all with these items? Joni,
No problem at all. We look forward to helping you with your moving needs.
Making Moving Better Movex from Jennifer M. in NY - February 26, 2007 Can Movex pick up/deliver my shipment on a Saturday? Jennifer,
Absolutely. Movex is available 7 days a week to serve you.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Anne B. in FL - February 26, 2007 I'm having to be out of my condo in Orlando on March 15, but my apartment in Charlotte might not be ready for a couple of weeks after. Do you have storage service? Anne,
Because we ship direct door-to-door, we cannot provide storage. I would recommend delivering to a mini-storage. It is cheap and will be more flexible if you apartment is not ready on time.
Making Moving Better, Movex
from g W. in MA - February 26, 2007 hello..the apartment i am moving to is on a small narrow street that is relatively busy. i do not believe a 28' truck will be able to maneuver through that street. will ABF still aid in my shipment? will i need to set up alternate means of receiving my shipment? thanks! G, You need to make sure that there is adequate room for the truck to park so that you can load and unload it.
If there is not a space to park it, you will need to either carry it to the closest place that we can park a truck or you will need to get a smaller truck and shuttle it out.
People more than likely move in and out of your complex often. How do they do it? Do they have to shuttle? If not, we can park wherever they can. The drivers that we use are pros. If a truck can be parked there, our guys can do it.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Heather C. in FL - February 25, 2007 I'm trying to fill out the form for an online quote and it will not accept my start location of Port St. Lucie, FL. Do you service my area, I will be moving to CT. Heather,
Try Port St Lucie without the period. It will work then. And yes, we service all points in CT and FL.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Penny M. in LA - February 23, 2007 I have a small (10gal) fish tank, with 2 Angel fish and 1 Sucker Fish (keeps the tank clean) how can I safely move these guys? Penny,
That is a great question. Unfortunately, I don't have a good answer for it. Does anyone else reading these posts have an answer for Penny that we could share?
Movex from rAM A. in NJ - February 21, 2007 I am planning to move to Toronto, Canada from Union, New Jersey this coming September 2007. Do you render services like this and how much. I would probably need like a studio apartment size move with boxes and small furniture and do i need like an inventory of everything in order for you guys to cross the border to Canada?. Sorry, Movex cannot service international moves on its moving vans. Because the customer is responsible for the loading and unloading, there is no way to manifest the shipment for border crossings.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Donna P. in CA - February 19, 2007 We are planning to move to Tx, we haven't bought a home yet, and we want to know if you all take furniture to storage?
Thank you Donna Purdy Donna,
We would be happy to take you to the storage facility of your choice.
Making Moving Better, Movex from wendy P. in UT - February 19, 2007 Hi, how many days before a scheduled move do you have to cancel it, or change the delivery date? Thanks, Wendy Wendy,
We need to have at least 72 hours notice for cancellation with no penalty. Delivery date is something that we can work on even while the move is in process. Calling our office at 800-876-6839 and speaking with a relocation specialist will help clarify that more.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Oscar V. in CA - February 18, 2007 I'm moving to Puerto Rico, will you be able to provide service for that??? Oscar,
Unfortunately, the nature of our business is direct shipments carried by "over the road" moving vans. We cannot help you with overseas shipments.
Making Moving Better, Movex from J M. in CA - February 17, 2007 Do you move locally? We live in the mountains of So. California and are moving about 90 miles away J,
Movex only handles moves that are crossing state lines. We can do short moves, as long as they are interstate relocations.
Making moving better, Movex from Donna C. in PA - February 16, 2007 Are your rates the same any day of the month? What if you need more space than you contracted or less? What is the least amount of time you allow for loading? How much prior notice to do you need in order to reserve your space? Donna,
I will try to answer your questions in the order asked: 1. Our rates are the same good bargain any day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday. Our competitors increase rates on the weekends. 2. If you need more space on the moving van, you can get up to 4 extra feet on moving day (sometimes more)if available. 3. You can have as little or as much time as you need for loading. We will not inconvenience you with dropping a truck in front of your house and leaving it there for days. 4. Some days are already booked up for our moving trucks. The sooner the better for maing reservations.
Making Moving Better, Movex from Kari L. in WI - February 16, 2007 Hi,
Do you work also in Canada? Kari,
Sorry, we only service the 48 contiguous United States.
Making Moving Better, Movex from John C. in AR - February 14, 2007 Do you offer tractor only service to pull my 48' trailer from Cabot,Ar.72023 To Cortez, Colorado 81321? Thanks for any help... John,
We do not have "Bobtail" service available. Sorry.
Making Moving Better, Movex from cheryl H. in CA - February 14, 2007 I was reading my info I am leaving Ca to tn I can notload my plants? Cheryl,
Great point. California has very strict rules about moving plants into the state. At the state lines, all commercial vehicles are checked for "agricultural" shipments. To prevent import of exotic species and gypsy moths, they will not allow household plants to be shipped without a special permit. If you want to contact the California Dept of Agriculture to get a permit, you can ship your plants. I would personally just buy new ones. What a pain!
Making Moving Better, The Movex Web Team from debra W. in FL - February 14, 2007 Quote # A772962 how much was the amount again? $1995.
We will have functionality alive again in the am for you to be able to look up this data yourself. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Making Moving Better, The Movex Web Team from cheryl H. in CA - February 14, 2007 do you except american express? Cheryl,
We do not currently pay Amex's ransom for using their card. We gladly accept Visa, MC, and Discover.
Making Moving Better, The Movex Web Team from Rachel G. in NJ - February 12, 2007 I am looking for a company that will transport my belongings from New Jersey to British Columbia, Canada. Does your company provide this service? If not, could you point me in the right direction? Thank you. Rachel Rachel,
Truck rental and self-service moving across the border are very difficult indeed. With Homeland Security, you must have a certified manifest of what is on the truck that is crossing the border. Unfortunately, Movex is not able to provide that service. Truck rental companies cannot either. This leaves you with limited choices. I would recommend calling United Van Lines for international shipments. It will be very expensive, but you won't end up delayed for weeks at the border.
Making Moving Better, The Movex Web Team from Raquel T. in TX - February 11, 2007 Do you have a service where you load and we drive? Raquel,
We can refer you to Eagle Labor Management that can provide loading or unloading services just about anywhere in the country. Please call our office during regular business hours and ask for Ross at XT. 2008. He can walk you through the process and get you pricing as well.
Making Moving Better, The Movex Web Team from Renae L. in MD - February 1, 2007 I am moving from Baltimore, MD to Las Vegas, NV. However, the majority of my belongings are in a storage unit in Austin, TX. Is it possible to pack up a van in Baltimore, then drive to Austin and load the rest of the van, then proceed to the final destination of Las Vegas? How much more would the detour cost then a regular trip. Do you charge by milage?
Thanks for your time,
Renae LaBrecque Renae,
We get this question a lot. Yes, we can do an additional pickup in route. However, the coordination to do this is pretty tricky. You will need to call into the office and let one of our relocation specialists walk you through this process and get pricing for you. Thanks for the good question. The Movex Web Team from Brian B. in CA - January 29, 2007 I am in the midst of getting a job in Fairview Montana, we have three bed room sets large screen tv and two couches. do you have accomadations for this type of move? Brian,
That is what we do best! Why drive a rental truck in a blizzard or pay an astronomical price to a full-service mover. Check out the experience of Aaron B, the comment before yours. It looks like Movex is saving his company about $8000 !!!
I hope that we can give you the same great results.
The Movex Web Team from Kandy R. in CA - January 28, 2007 I am moving from London Ontario Canada to Taft, California. Do you do moves from Canada to the USA? Kandy, Because we are a self-service mover (you load and unload), we cannot move internationally. Homeland security will not allow commercial vehicles across borders without a certified trip manifest. For self-service moving, it is impossible to get one certified. I would call a full-service mover that can provide you with the proper border documentation. Thanks, The Movex Web Team from Edward B. in OH - January 23, 2007 would you know where I could purchase a gadget which you could use to raise the corner of furniture to slip a "slider" under. Ed, The best thing to use is a good old-fashioned dolly. You need to have something sturdy to provide the leverage that you need. The "sliders" are great for moving furniture around in a room, but not good for loading moving trucks. We find that the best way to load a rental truck is using a 4 wheel dolly. We provide these on our moving vans. Hope this helps. The Movex Web Team from wendy P. in UT - January 19, 2007 how many blankets tiedowns. etc do you provide with rental? Wendy, The number of blankets that you get depends on how much space you order on the rental truck (actually we are using professional moving vans that are driven door-to-door for you). All of the trucks are well-equipped so that you have everything you need to make moving easier. Thanks, The Movex Web Team
from leann G. in IL - January 18, 2007 My son is moving from Il to CA. He wants to move his motorcycle and moped a few boxes and maybe his bed. Would it be worth us using your company if so you you give us some kind of rate Leann, Our moving trucks are equipped with loading ramps so that you can drive the motorcycle right into the truck. It would definitely be worth your while for us to give you a moving quote. Please feel free to call us at 800-876-6839 and one of our relocation specialists can quickly help you with the best rate and service for your particular move. We have several options that would be too lengthy to discuss in email. Thanks, The Movex Web Team from Alden S. in NM - January 17, 2007 I plan on moving to Flordia at the end of feb. And I am doing all the packing myself.(What Fun) And I need help with my Plasma TV.How an d what is the best way to pack it? And would it be ok for me to lay it flat in order to Wrap it? A friend of mine told me that I should not lay it flat. I need a EXPERT'S thought on the matter... Thank's for your help on this. P.S. I will call you for a estm. soon Alden, It will not hurt your plasma TV to lay it down on a moving blanket to wrap it up. However, you should ship it upright. With Movex, we only use air-ride moving vans, so your plasma TV will get the softest ride possible. We also provide you with the moving blankets and straps to secure your items. Wrap your TV well in our blankets and use the straps to secure it to the wall of the truck. I |
